    Co-founder of Kickstarter

    Yancey is co-founder of Kickstarter, the world’s largest funding platform for creative projects, raising nearly $2.8 billion in its short history. Yancey Strickler co-founded Kickstarter to help bring creative projects to life. In the process, he has started an important conversation about how companies can stick to their ideals, resist conformity, and contribute to the public good.

     

    Gerry Pond

    Gerry Pond has over 45 years of in-depth experience in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector. As the CEO of NBTel and the President of its successor, Aliant Telecom, he was at the helm during a period of significant deregulation in the Canadian industry. Under his innovative leadership, NBTel emerged as an international ICT leader.​ He is also the Co-Founder of Propel ICT, a start-up accelerator, the Co-Founder of the Pond-Deshpande Centre at the University of New Brunswick, and the Co-Founder of East Valley Ventures, an accelerator for Atlantic Canadian start-up companies with a mission of helping passionate entrepreneurs launch meaningful and enduring technology companies.

    Desh Deshpande

    Gururaj “Desh” Deshpande is a Trustee of Deshpande Foundation along with his wife Jaishree. He is also the President and Chairman of Sparta Group LLC, a family investment office, and the Chairman of Tejas Networks. During his entrepreneurial career, Dr. Deshpande has been involved either as the founder, a founding investor or chairman of several companies including Cascade Communications, Sycamore Networks, Coral Networks, Tejas Networks, Cimaron, Webdialogs, Airvana, Sandstone Capital, A123 Systems and Curata.

    Mayor - Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada

    There are three common threads that weave through Mike O’Brien’s rise to become Mayor of Fredericton – a lifetime of public service, a visionary insight, and a compassion for the less advantaged. Combined with his love for his community, these traits resulted in a City stronger and more inclusive than it otherwise may have been.
